Kivi\u00f5li Keemiat\u00f6\u00f6stus (KKT) is a company whose main activities are oil shale extraction and the production of shale oil, thermal energy, and power.<\/p>\n

  1. The production units of the company established in 1922 are located in the town of Kivi\u00f5li in Ida-Viru County.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    KKT extracts oil shale in the North Kivi\u00f5li extraction site and nearly 1.5 million tonnes of oil shale is extracted annually.<\/p>\n

    Combined heating and power production covers the heating needs of both the company and the town of Kivi\u00f5li. The power produced by KKT is consumed at the company and it is also forwarded to the distribution network.<\/p>\n
